The City of Cedar Falls is seeking qualified candidates to test for the position of Public Safety Officer (PSO). Starting pay: $54,042; certified candidates will begin at Step II or $59,660 ($78,500 is the City’s current PSO maximum). For consideration, applicants must submit proof of two years post high school education consisting of 60 semester or 90-quarter hours from an accredited college or university with their application. Candidates must also meet the minimum hiring standards of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) and successfully complete entry testing. Position requires possession of, or the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Iowa driver’s license with good driving record. Successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment physical exam including drug screen, a background investigation, and polygraph exam required. Applicants hired will be required to obtain a Firefighter I certification within 3 years from their employment date.
Testing will be conducted in Cedar Falls on Saturday, October 26th. All candidates will be informed of their eligibility/approval to test mid-October and additional information will be provided.
